How my journey began

Sammy is a sunshine-filled yoga teacher who loves guiding people into their practice.

For me, yoga is more than movement, it’s a gentle act of self-care.
My journey began 17 years ago in a steamy hot yoga studio, where I face-planted, giggled, and vowed to come back again. Since then, yoga has become my daily anchor, giving me strength, flexibility, focus, peace, and a safe space to listen to my mind, body, and heart.
My teaching is shaped not only by 24 years of experience as a counsellor, caseworker, community development worker, and international aid worker, but also by my own journey of healing. In 2020, I was hit by a car and underwent major shoulder reconstruction. Living with pain, restriction, and acute disability taught me the value of patience, compassion, and slow, steady progress. That experience gave me a deeper empathy for anyone navigating their own limitations, and it inspires me to create classes where you’ll always feel safe, respected, and supported, no matter your starting point.
Years of working in community services and international aid taught me something vital: we can only care for others when we care for ourselves. Yoga became my path to self-love, grounding, and resilience and I’m here to share that with you.
When I’m not on my mat, you’ll find me sipping tea by the ocean, making pottery, painting, hiking in nature, salsa dancing, laughing with friends or enjoying a good scotch whiskey.
I invite you to create your own space to move, breathe, and feel at home in your body.
